Prostar 2 Volt GM Series lead acid battery is made of individual cells each providing 2 Volt. By combining multiple cells, batteries of nearly every voltage and capacity can be made. Depending on the capacity of the cell, one, two or four connection points for the positive and negative connections are available. Due to the flexible design, the final shape of the battery can be adapted to the space available. The cells can be placed in any direction, creating a system with all connections on the front so it enables easy checking of individual cell voltages and the torque of the connections.
AGM batteries have much better resistance to vibration and shock due to their construction than most flooded batteries. The plates are packed in with the glass mat, reducing plate movement and vibration to nearly zero. In addition, because the glass mats are not totally saturated and the liquid does not expand to cause plate and case damage, AGM batteries can withstand freezing - you will get little or no output from a frozen battery, but at least it will not ruin the battery or break the case.In AGM sealed batteries, the acid is absorbed between the plates and immobilized by a very fine fiberglass mat.
The rechargeable batteries are lead-lead dioxide systems. The dilute sulfuric acid electrolyte is absorbed by separators and plates and thus immobilized. Should the battery be accidentally overcharged producing hydrogen and oxygen, special one-way valves allow the gases to escape thus avoiding excessive pressure build-up. Otherwise, the battery is completely sealed and is, therefore, maintenance-free, leak proof and usable in any position.
2 volt AGM VRLA battery banks are available in a wide range of 2v battery cells, from 100 Ah to 3000 Ah, configured to customer required voltages, standard modules are 24v or 48v battery banks. These are rechargeable Lead Acid Battery banks made up of 2 volt vrla cells used for power backup in solar with an incredibly long cycle life.
